Don’t go into medicine if you are chasing money. Choose banking or law instead.

We are paid well above the average wage and I believe I have to make sure I am worth that for patients. It takes about a quarter of a million to train a doctor through medical school and I think I owe my career to the NHS for the privilege I was given to qualify as a doctor, and a responsibility for the investment made in me each year in my work as a GP.

You will earn enough money to be very comfortable as a doctor, however don’t go into the profession for the money as other careers are much more financially rewarding (but not as rewarding in other ways!)
